Projects have ranged from features, profiles, and press releases to speeches, white papers, and presentations.
His feature stories have appeared in magazines, Websites, and newsletters. These range from Scientific American, Mind, U.S. News & World Review, Fox News, New Jersey Monthly, NASA Space Research, and such professional society magazines as Spectrum, Aerospace America, and Mechanical Engineering.
Alan served as launch editor for Homeland Response, Family Days Away, and AdhesivesOnline. He has managed a variety of technology newsletters, including High-Tech Materials Alert, Advanced Coatings & Surface Technology, and Performance Materials.
In addition to communications projects, Alan provides consulting and strategic analysis for technology businesses through Probe Economics. He also writes about wine and travel.
He graduated from New College at Hofstra Magna Cum Laude in 1974 and was a member of a helicopter fire attack crew for the U.S. Forest Service before starting his writing career. He is a past co-chair of the Science Writers in New York.
